Accessibility

This website has been designed and built to be as accessible to as wide an audience as possible. If you have problems using the site, please let us know.

Access keys

This site can be navigated without the use of a mouse by using the tab key and the defined access keys. Access keys allow you to activate a link using only your keyboard. A full list of the access keys used on this site is provided on the access keys page.

Standards compliance

Every effort has been made to ensure this website is standards compliant, so as to deliver the greatest benefits to the greatest number of users while ensuring the long-term viability of pages published on the web.

All pages use structured semantic markup.

Visual design

This site uses CSS for it's presentation, this ensures that the semantic structure of the information is preserved. If your browser or browsing device does not support CSS, the content of each page will still be readable.

The page layout accommodates resizing text, all text uses relative font sizes so it can be enlarged or reduced using the text size options available in your browser.

All images have text alternates (alt attributes).

Links

Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, this information is displayed when your mouse hovers over a link, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article).

Whenever possible, links are written to make sense out of context. Many browsers (such as JAWS, Home Page Reader, Lynx, and Opera) can extract a list of links on a page and allow the user to browse the list, separately from the page. To aid this, link text is never duplicated; two links with the same text always point to the same address.

There are no links that open new windows without warning.
